2026-2027 Orchestras, Rehearsals, & Tuition Fees
The Huntsville Youth Orchestra offers six levels of musical opportunities with strings classes ranging from beginner to advanced, and ensembles for wind and percussion students with as little as two years of playing experience to advanced full orchestra. Novice Strings - $355
For beginners, age 7-10, who wish to learn the violin, viola, cello, or bass.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm
Intermezzo Orchestra - $385
For intermediate string players with 1-2 years of experience.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays 5-6pm
Concert Orchestra - $430
For intermediate level string players with 2-3 years of experience.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays 6:10-7:25pm
Philharmonia - $495
For intermediate level string players with at least 2-3 years of playing experience. Audition required.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays 5:45-7pm
Sinfonia - $520
For advanced string players, wind, and percussion players with at least 2-3 years of playing experience. Audition required.
Rehearsals: Mondays 5:15-6:45pm
Huntsville Youth Symphony - $535
For advanced string, wind, and percussion players. Audition required.
Rehearsals: Mondays 7-9pm
The Huntsville Youth Orchestra is committed to making music education accessible to all families. We offer need-based financial aid and flexible payment plan options to help cover tuition costs. To apply, please complete the application form. Students should complete an audition or contact info@hsvyo.org about joining before requesting Financial Aid and/or a Payment Plan.

Registration for each season opens in July for non-auditioned ensembles and after audition results are released for auditioned ensembles.

Tuition is paid through the registration form. If you are unable to pay through the form using paypal, please contact us at info@hsvyo.org to coordinate an alternate payment method.

Yes, HYO families enrolling more than one child in the HYO receive $50 off tuition for each additional child. There is also financial aid available. Please contact info@hsvyo.org for discount or financial aid codes before completing registration.

Yes! We accept new students at any point in the season for all orchestras (except Novice Strings) and pro-rate the tuition fee. We do ask that new students wait to begin at the start of a new concert cycle. Students wishing to join mid-season should contact info@hsvyo.org.
