Bridging Centuries: Foundations to New Frontiers
This 2025-2026 season, the Huntsville Youth Orchestra returns to the roots of classical music while embracing the future. Our students will explore timeless works by composers like Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Mendelssohn, alongside vibrant music by living composers from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. By connecting the “warhorses” of the past with the voices of today, we aim to honor tradition and celebrate the evolving richness of the classical canon.
Upcoming 2025-2026 Season Events
First Rehearsals
Weekly rehearsals for the season begin on Monday, September 8 (HYS & Sinfonia) and Tuesday, September 9 (Philharmonia, Concert, Intermezzo, & Novice Strings).
Fall Concert
Join us for the first concert of the 2025-2026 Season featuring performances by the Huntsville Youth Symphony, Sinfonia, Philharmonia, and Concert Orchestra.
Holiday Concert
Celebrate the Holidays with the HYO!

Winter Concert I
Winter Concert I features performances by Novice Strings, Intermezzo Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, & Philharmonia.
Winter Concert II
Winter Concert II features performances by the Huntsville Youth Symphony and Sinfonia.
Spring Concert
The Spring Concert is the final concert of the season featuring performances by all six orchestras.
Auditions
Interested in joining the HYO for the 2025-2026 season? Come audition on August 7, 8, or 9 to be a part of the Huntsville Youth Symphony, Sinfonia, or Philharmonia!
Auditions will be at the Sandra Moon Complex as follows:
August 7: 3 - 6 pm
August 8: 3 - 7 pm
August 9: 9 am - 5 pm
Novice Strings, Intermezzo Orchestra, and Concert Orchestra do not require an audition to join.

Tennessee Valley Music Festival
Tennessee Valley Music Festival (TVMF) is a premiere music day festival for all levels of string students as well as intermediate and advanced woodwinds, brass, and percussion students. You do not need to be a member of HYO to participate! We invite you to join the Huntsville Youth Orchestra for an intense and highly motivating week of music study!
Spring Concert
The Spring Concert will include performances by all six HYO orchestras, feature the Concerto Competition Winner, and recognize all graduating seniors. Admission is free.
Winter Concert II
Winter Concert II will include performances by Sinfonia and the Huntsville Youth Symphony. Admission is free.
Winter Concert I
Winter Concert I will include performances by Novice Strings, Intermezzo Orchestra, and Concert Orchestra.
