Chamber Music

Welcome to HYO’s Chamber Music Program, an extraordinary opportunity for talented musicians to share their passion for music with the community. In this program, HYO students come together to form small ensembles, allowing them to represent the Youth Orchestra at various community events, HSO Guild Functions, Corporate Functions, Christmas Galas, weddings, and more!

The Chamber Music Program is a vital component of the Huntsville Youth Orchestra, playing a crucial role in each student's musical education. All students from the Philharmonia, Sinfonia, and Huntsville Youth Symphony are not only invited but strongly encouraged to participate in this enriching program. Non-HYO Members are also invited to join.

Key Features of the Chamber Music Program:

  • Participate weekly in a chamber group rehearsal (quartet, quintet, etc) with peers.

  • Explore a body of repertoire specifically designed for chamber ensembles.

  • Participate in HYO sponsored performances as schedules permit.

  • Are encouraged to play at community events for service or for donations.

  • Become stronger musicians through the study and performance of chamber music.

  • Work with professional musicians as coaches in the small group setting
