2024-2025 Student Information

Rehearsals
The Huntsville Youth Orchestra office and rehearsals are located at the Sandra Moon Complex. All HYO events (except for concerts) are held at the Sandra Moon Complex unless noted otherwise. All orchestras rehearse weekly beginning the last week of August through late May and follow the Huntsville City Schools Calendar for holiday and weather related closures.

Weekly Rehearsal Schedule:

  • Huntsville Youth Symphony: Mondays, 7:00 - 9:00 pm (band room)

  • Sinfonia: Mondays, 5:30 - 6:45 pm (band room)

  • Philharmonia: Tuesdays, 5:45 - 7:00 pm (band room)

  • Concert Orchestra: Tuesdays, 6:10 - 7:25 pm (conference room)

  • Intermezzo Orchestra: Tuesdays, 5:00 - 6:00 pm (conference room)

  • Novice Strings: Tuesdays, 4:30 - 5:30 pm (band room)

Parent Meeting:

A parent meeting is held each year prior to the first rehearsal to go over important handbook items, meet the conductors & board members, ask questions, and find ways to volunteer and get involved! All HYO parents, guardians, and students are invited to attend!

2024-2025 Season Start Dates:

  • August 8 - 10: Auditions

  • August 19 @ 7pm: Parent Meeting (band room)

  • August 26: First Rehearsals for Huntsville Youth Symphony & Sinfonia

  • August 27: First Rehearsals for Novice, Intermezzo, Concert, & Philharmonia
